Geospatial Scales

Geographic scales at which data are accounted for in the present catalog, according to the specificities of each country:
- Regions: A territorial entity consisting of one or more neighboring provinces.
- Provinces, Counties: An administrative division recognized as a local entity formed by the grouping of municipalities.
- Municipalitites: Basic local entity in the territorial organization. It can be the administrative level below the province granting a degree of autonomy to its governing body, which is the City Council.
- Postal Codes: Worldwide postal areas are geographic boundaries that define the geographic area for each postcode.
- Census track/Micro areas: Could be subdivisions of the postcode or administrative boundaries like census areas, minimum administrative units used for electoral census purposes.
- Portal (coordinates x,y): A way to locate any address using coordinates x, y, which represent the intersection of two imaginary lines: a parallel indicating latitude and a meridian indicating longitude for that location.
